The field of optics is wide-ranging, from classic areas such as photography, cameras, lenses and spectrometers to more recent developments in photonics such as liquid-crystal display, light-emitting diodes, lasers and fibre optics, and charge-coupled devices, to name just a few. The IOP Series in Emerging Technologies in Optics and Photonics aims to provide readers at all stages of their careers - whether students, researchers, or those who enjoy self-teaching - with a wide-ranging collection of books that each focus on a relevant topic in the technologies and application of optics and photonics. These books will provide knowledge to prepare the reader to be better able to participate in these exciting areas, now and in the future.
Authors are encouraged to take advantage of the features made possible by electronic publication to enhance the reader experience through the use of colour, animation and video, and incorporating supplementary files in their work.
